In the first picture we were almost about to hit him. He ran in front of the car, that's why it's so streaked. It was late and I had the shutter set to about 1/10sec.
And the 2nd picture is a mega crop and ultimate lightening.
I'm not really that happy with quality of the pictures but, how often do get a picture a deer, let alone two on the same day.

Interesting composition in the second image; I like it. It really gives the deer a sense of place.
How did you get such a great shot of a deer like in the first picture? I only see them when I'm about to hit one in the car at night.
